Marr Plaza office

Mixed use

2005

A rather complex urban planning environment with residential buildings neighboring industrial and warehousing projects resulted in a well-balanced image design: pure forms of the multi-purpose complex are covered with a shell which is in line with smaller scale residential buildings. The balance is gained due to the facades’ finishing with materials of contrast colors and textures which blend the industrial and urban architecture stylistics, i.e. with ceramic tiles, polished color glass and stained-glass windows, silver aluminum louver shutters with horizontal fins, dope and brutal-style steel shapes. The façade blanket is pierced with checkered window openings which introduces rhythm and dynamics to rather static space of two checkered glasses (to meet the insulation requirements). And the fins’ pattern revives it with the play of light and shadow. Mood lighting is to eye-catchingly highlight the mosaic pattern during the hours of darkness. The 8*12 meters column grid is to ensure the best space planning solutions for the office premises. The advanced modular-type façade technology was employed for construction, i.e. the construction site is supplied with 100% ready-to-use façade panels which improves work quality and speed.
